Catching up...

My little girl is officially one as of last Wednesday. I cant believe how quickly a year can go by when you have a child. Seems like just yesterday we were bringing her home from the hospital. Here she is on her birthday running around the house.

Her birthday party turned out wonderfully. I am thankful for everyone that came and made my baby's day even more special. She got lots of great toys and books that she loves. Unfortunately, she was very uninterested in the birthday cake I made her... it was a little disappointing but oh well, maybe next year.

Last weekend we went to our family reunion. Kirsten got to see and touch her first real cow and get nice and dirty and become an official 'river rat'. : ) This is the phrase that the family has made up for all the kids that go down to my grandpa's house by the colorado river and get nice and dirty playing. The trip was a lot of enjoyable but exhausting. I look forward to traveling more when Kirsten gets a little older. The long drive wasnt the most fun for her in the carseat and the night at the hotel was a little difficult. But overall, it was totally worth it to see everyone... we just went to bed really early when we got home Sunday night. : )
